The City of Belleville developed the B-Connect Public web map as its primary public-facing GIS application, providing residents, businesses, and visitors with access to a wide range of mapping and location-based information in one centralized platform. The objective of this project was to make City data more accessible, understandable, and useful by bringing together key services, infrastructure, and community information into a single, interactive map.

The B-Connect Public web map serves as a comprehensive resource for exploring how the city functions and where services and amenities are located. It includes a broad range of information available to the public, such as zoning and land-use layers, transit routes, yard waste collection areas, flood mapping, ward boundaries, parks, community gardens, cemeteries, and other points of interest. By organizing this information in a user-friendly interface, the map allows users to easily explore multiple layers and better understand how different City systems and services connect.

The application is designed to support everyday needs as well as planning and decision-making by providing reliable, up-to-date geographic information. Whether users are looking up property-related information, finding nearby amenities, understanding service areas, or learning more about their neighbourhood, B-Connect Public offers a single point of access to trusted City data.

The B-Connect Public web map is available through the City’s GIS Hub, which can be accessed directly from the City’s homepage. By centralizing a wide range of public information in one intuitive platform, the tool enhances transparency, improves access to City services, and helps residents, businesses, and decision-makers better understand Belleville’s communities, infrastructure, and services.

The B-Connect web map application was launched in March 2025.
