Potential Water Servicing Extension Review (Marshall Road, Bridge Street West, Peter Road and Moira Street)
At the Aug. 10, 2026 meeting, Council directed staff to meet with residents on Marshall Road, Bridge Street West, Peter Road and Moira Street and report back to Council by the Sept. 28 meeting with a plan to implement a temporary water supply to households in these areas that are experiencing periodic or permanent water deficiencies, until such time as a permanent municipal water source can be installed.
Prior to meeting with property owners, staff are trying to better understand the need for water servicing of the existing properties. The City is undertaking a survey to gather data from property owners within the study area. This data will be used to assess and evaluate water servicing alternatives.
As part of this process, the City will be looking at the funding requirements, which could include a range of funding alternatives up to and including full cost recovery from benefiting property owners.
Thank you to everyone who took part in our survey. A public consultation centre is scheduled for Sept. 10 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the SMB Room at City Hall.
