Invitation to Workshop #1 Meyers Pier Environmental Assessment

The City of Belleville is undertaking a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) and Preliminary Design Study to provide a long-term solution to the sustainability of Meyers Pier to serve its intended range of functions. The MCEA will address a range of options from “Do Nothing” to major pier rehabilitation or replacement.

Meyers Pier is a landmark feature of the City of Belleville waterfront in the Bay of Quinte, providing recreational and economic opportunities and benefits for residents and tourists. The pier is envisioned as a vibrant community space that will serve people of all ages as they travel in and around Belleville and the Bay of Quinte area for business and leisure. Presently, Meyers Pier is faced with structural challenges, limiting its use as a safe, functional, and attractive public space. The pier infrastructure is deteriorating and requires major repair, replacement, and/or rehabilitation. The City is conducting this MCEA to identify the most effective long-term solution ensuring the sustainability of Meyers Pier and to enhance its range of functions.

As part of the consultation process for the MCEA, a series of workshops will be held to provide information to members of the public and other interested parties. This first workshop will introduce the project, give some information on the MCEA process, provide a general overview of the technical studies that will be completed, solicit feedback on the problem statement, and identify opportunities for involvement.

The City encourages interested parties to attend the first public workshop to be held:
