The City of Belleville owns 75 acres of land located immediate north of Black Diamond Road and east of Highway 37. The new Belleville Agricultural Society Facility is currently under construction and will occupy approximately 30 acres of the property. The City is now starting the process to create new parcels with the remaining lands.
A new road has recently been built off Black Diamond Road into the property. The road provides access and municipal servicing for both the new Fairgrounds and future lots.
The land severance process will create:
A new right-of-way,
The New Fairgrounds site as its own parcel, and
Several new industrial/employment parcels on the remaining lands.
Creating new industrial/employment parcels helps ensure Belleville has a long-term supply of appropriately zoned land that is ready for new business and job growth. The City plans to market and sell theses lots as industrial/employment for development opportunities.
As the process moves forward, the City will complete the required approvals to:
Legally create the new parcels through an Ontario Land Surveyor, and
Prepare the new parcels for sale and future development.
