The City of Belleville is completing preliminary design for the rehabilitation and renewal of Old Highway 2 from Haig Road easterly to Point Anne Road.
This section of road is a 4-lane divided highway with a wide grass median with several left turn crossovers, water crossings, and structures.

The rehabilitation will consider localized operational improvements to provide left turn movements in accordance with current design standards, as well as incorporating active transportation as outlined in the City's Transportation Master Plan.

The preliminary design process and recommendations in the preliminary design report will become the reference document used by the City in developing a capital plan for rehabilitation of this highway corridor.

Planned Improvements:
  • Removal of grassed median
  • New asphalt surface
  • Upgraded / rehabilitated structure
  • Cycling infrastructure

These upgrades will develop a safe and efficient road and transportation system that addresses the needs of our residents and businesses.
