The City of Belleville is relocating the Belleville Agricultural Society to a new facility. The relocation provides an opportunity for the City to redevelop the existing ('Old') Fairgrounds site at the corner of Sidney Street and Bridge Street West.

The purpose of redeveloping the Old Fairgrounds site is to create future residential land uses. To support the new development, the City will need to prepare the required planning applications, development plans, and engineering design drawings. The project will be completed in two phases, and the City is currently focused on the design, approvals and construction required for Phase 1.

Phase 1 of the Old Fairgrounds Redevelopment will include:

  • Construction of a new local road, extending Dunnett Boulevard north into the property
  • Installation of new water, wastewater and stormwater sewers
  • Construction of a new stormwater management pond

This investment expands the City's infrastructure network to support future residential growth.

Future Development

Phase 2 of the Old Fairgrounds Redevelopment will include:

  • Construction of a new local road, extending Catharine Street west into the property
  • Installation of new water, and wastewater sewers
