Minimal traffic impact will occur with the development of the YMCA. Per Schedule C of the City of Belleville's Official Plan, Bridge Street West and Marshall Road are classified as Collector Roads. Collector roads are medium capacity transportation roads that connect neighbourhoods and provide access to the Downtown. 

The addition of the YMCA will increase the volume of traffic along Bridge Street West in this area but the roadway will still operate well within capacity. 

At this time, Bridge Street West will not be widened at this location and no other changes to the roadway will occur as part of the YMCA project. 

Future work in this area will be limited to the installation of new twin sanitary forcemains, as part of the ongoing Avonlough Sewage Pumping Station project. Please see Avonlough Sewage Pumping Station page for more information on that City Project.
