City Staff alongside Sierra Planning and Management hosted a public information centre at Prince Charles Public School. The in-person event gave residents an opportunity to get involved in the site development process and provide feedback on the project based on parkland preferences.  

The feedback received will be brought back to City Council through a “What We Heard” report with recommendations of next steps.

City Staff commenced engagement for the project in January 2025. The pre-engagement process included letter notices delivered to residents and landowners within a 400m radius of the subject property, and notice signs posted on all street frontages along the subject property. 

Belleville Council approved a resolution for Staff to undertake work for the creation of affordable rental housing at the former Queen Mary School site while maintaining up to 1 acre of public parkland.
