A design for Front Street (Upper Bridge) is underway for rehabilitation due to structural deterioration.

Addressing these issues now will help preserve this structure that was built in the 1930's and avoid more costly repairs or full replacement in the future.

Planned rehabilitation work includes:

  • Removal and reconstruction of cantilevered sidewalks
  • Removal and reconstruction of curbs
  • Removal and replacement of expansion joints, ballast walls, lighting, conduit, and wiring
  • Partial depth concrete removals on concrete overhang brackets, arch ribs, hangers, tie beams, and floor beams
  • Bridge deck waterproofing and paving

With Lower Bridge now complete, this project is moving towards the construction phase of rehabilitation in 2026.
